Midnight Rose Coral Bells

Heuchera x ‘Midnight Rose’ is a sport of the cultivar ‘Obsidian’, itself named for exceptionally dark, purple-black leaves. ‘Midnight Rose’ is similar in most regards except that it features similarly purple black leaves but also bearing lighter colored, variegated pattering a bit like paint flecks that make this cultivar even more striking. These flecks start out nearly hot pink as leaves emerge, and gradually fade as the season progresses, adding a dynamic, color-changing drama to flower beds, part shade spaces under trees, and foundation plantings that are as compelling as any floral display but longer lasting. Consider using this standout coral bell cultivar en masse, or in clumps, visually breaking up fine-textured, or masses of other plants of foliar interest, including those with blue-tinted or bright-green leaves.
