FireSmart Collection - Zone 2

Our FireSmart Collection for Zone 2, the Intermediate zone of your yard, is designed to diminish the intensity of an approaching fire between 5 and 30 feet from your home. Keep this area lean, clean, and green with drought-tolerant plants that are compact in form and drop minimal flammable material. Intersperse these perennials among decorative rock, gravel, and steppingstone pathways to create a visually appealing firebreak.

Our FireSmart Collection - Zone 2 (Intermediate) includes 6 plants (1 of each) and covers approximately 10 square feet:

Defensible space is a concept for FireSmart landscaping that involves creating a buffer zone around your property to help slow or stop the spread of fire. This space is divided into three main zones determined by the distance from a structure. High Country Gardens has developed a plant collection for each zone, to easily turn your yard into a more fire-resilient landscape.
• For Zone 1 – Immediate Zone (0-5 feet), plant, FireSmart Collection - Zone 1
• For Zone 2 – Intermediate Zone (5-30 feet), plant FireSmart Collection - Zone 2
• For Zone 3 – Extended Zone (30-100 feet), plant FireSmart Collection - Zone 3
