The Story

Rudbeckia x 'Denver Daisy' (Black-Eyed Susan) is a short-lived perennial usually grown as an annual for best results; it may reseed in the right conditions, but reseeding cannot be guaranteed. It has parentage from Rudbeckia hirta, a daisy native to Colorado, and Rudbeckia ‘Prairie Sun’. For a bright and cheerful look, combine with large, feathery grasses, or contrast with dark blue or purple Penstemon for color contrasts. This sturdy plant is also perfect for container gardens where it stands tall and proud among other companions. Rudbeckias are a favorite of butterflies, bees, and beneficial insects, and birds love the seeds. Introduced by Plant Select® – waterwise, garden-tested plants proven to thrive in the high plains and intermountain west for more beauty, with less work. Grand Prize Winner of the 2010 American Garden Award.
