Sutherland Night Blooming Ice Plant (Stomatium)

Sutherland Night Blooming Ice Plant (Stomatium sp. Sutherland form) is a choice little cold hardy Mesemb. This night bloomer comes into flower in mid-spring with fragrant yellow, bottlebrush-type flowers. During the day, you can see the fabulous silver-grey evergreen foliage that grows to form a small tight mat. An outstanding rock garden species, plant it between rocks where it will slowly spread like succulent lichen. Collected by High Country Gardens Chief Horticulturist David Salman near the tiny town of Sutherland, in one of the coldest areas of the Republic of South Africa. Outstanding! Good for Firescaping
