Even the dry, hot summer weather didn't shorten the 3-month blooming season. Like Golden Spur Columbine, Arizona Columbine comes down from the mountains into the middle elevations of Coconino Co. in north central Arizona and is more amenable to non-mountain climates. Shade is a must in hot desert climates.
