The Story

Tulipa greigii 'Red Riding Hood' harmonizes a spring garden with its big, bright scarlet-red flowers with black hearts and deftly shaded deep red petals. The striped leaves are almost as spectacular as the flowers, giving this perennial tulip long lasting garden appeal. Standing on sturdy 10-12" stems, the large, open flowers often span 4-5" wide! Sometimes known as Rock Garden Tulips, they will naturalize easily when happy. For best results plant in groupings of 10-15 bulbs. Planted in full sun for best color, to part-shade for longer bloom times, these hardy, easy-to-grow bulbs will light up a mid-spring garden. 'Red Riding Hood' won the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticulture Society and is one of the world’s most popular Greigii tulips.
